The paper offers no answers on its own. Whatever it once explained has already been removed, torn away, or taken with purpose. As you lower it back onto the desk, something else catches your eye.
A phone lies nearby — unlocked, face down, screen still faintly warm. No notifications. No missed calls. Someone left it in a hurry, or never meant to leave it at all.
You turn it over and open the last thing viewed.
